Kind, practical and evidence-informed support for dogs and the people who love them.
Helping Dogs Through Understanding, Not Punishment
Hello, I’m Ange, the founder of Ravendale Training & Behaviour.
I’m a qualified Canine Behaviour Practitioner and dog trainer specialising in aggression, reactivity and behaviour change. I support dogs and their families across Horsham, West Sussex and the surrounding areas, as well as offering online consultations where appropriate.
My approach is based on a simple belief:
Behaviour is communication.
Dogs do not bark, lunge, growl, guard or react because they are being difficult or trying to cause problems. These behaviours often happen because a dog is frightened, overwhelmed, frustrated, uncomfortable or struggling to cope.
Rather than simply trying to stop the behaviour, I look at what may be causing it, what your dog needs and how we can begin creating safer, calmer and more manageable experiences together.
Whether you are living with a reactive dog, worried about aggression or simply feeling exhausted and unsure what to do next, you will not be judged.
My aim is to help you:
🐾 Understand your dog’s behaviour more clearly
🐾 Reduce stress for both you and your dog
🐾 Feel safer and more confident in everyday situations
🐾 Learn practical strategies that work in real life
🐾 Build lasting change through kindness, understanding and support
Every dog and household is different. That is why I do not use a one-size-fits-all approach.
The support you receive will be tailored to your dog, your family, your environment and the challenges you are experiencing.
You do not have to work through it alone.

Living with Zeus completely changed the way I understood dogs and behaviour.
Walks had to be carefully planned. Everyday situations could feel overwhelming, and I experienced first-hand the worry, frustration and isolation that can come with loving a dog who struggles.
I know what it feels like to dread seeing another dog in the distance.
I know how it feels to be judged by people who do not understand.
And I know what it is like to wonder whether life will ever become easier for you or your dog.
I was determined to understand what Zeus was trying to communicate and find kinder ways to help him feel safe. That determination led me to study canine behaviour in depth, complete professional qualifications and specialise in aggression, reactivity and behaviour change.
Zeus taught me that reactive dogs are not bad dogs.
They are often frightened, overwhelmed, frustrated or struggling to cope with the world around them. Their behaviour may be difficult to live with, but it is happening for a reason.
Today, I combine my professional knowledge with the personal understanding that comes from having lived this journey myself.
I support dogs and their families using kind, evidence-informed methods that focus on reducing stress, building confidence and creating realistic change that can be carried into everyday life.
Behaviour challenges do not only affect the dog. They can affect your routines, relationships, confidence, social life and emotional wellbeing.
That is why my support is never just about giving you a list of training exercises.
It is about listening to you, understanding your dog and helping your whole household feel safer, more confident and less alone.
Whether your dog is struggling with aggression, reactivity, anxiety, fear or another behaviour concern, my goal is to help you understand what is happening, strengthen the relationship you share and feel more hopeful about the way forward.
I do not believe in simply suppressing behaviour or trying to make a dog appear obedient without understanding what they are experiencing.
Instead, I look beneath the behaviour to explore why it may be happening.
Every dog is an individual, and there is rarely one single reason behind aggression, reactivity, anxiety or other behaviour challenges. That is why I take time to consider the whole dog, including:
🐾 Emotions and stress levels
🐾 Physical health and discomfort
🐾 Home environment and daily routines
🐾 Previous experiences and learning history
🐾 Relationships with people and other animals
🐾 Exercise, rest, enrichment and lifestyle
🐾 The situations in which the behaviour occurs
This helps me create a personalised plan that is practical, realistic and appropriate for your individual dog and household.
My aim is not simply to change what your dog does.
It is to improve their emotional wellbeing, help them feel safer and give you the understanding and confidence to manage everyday life more successfully together.
Behaviour challenges can affect far more than walks or training sessions.
They may influence where you go, who can visit your home, how your dogs live together and how confident you feel when handling difficult situations.
As a Canine Behaviour Practitioner specialising in aggression and reactivity, I provide support that considers both ends of the lead.
Your dog needs to feel understood and safe, but you also deserve clear advice, practical guidance and support without judgement.
Together, we will work towards reducing stress, improving communication and strengthening the relationship between you and your dog.
You should feel confident that the person supporting your dog has appropriate knowledge, experience and professional training.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution to behaviour.
Your dog’s history, emotions, health, environment and relationships all matter. Your own circumstances matter too. That is why the support you receive will always be shaped around the life you share with your dog.

Living with a dog who barks or lunges on walks, growls around visitors, guards valued items or struggles with everyday situations can feel exhausting and isolating.
You may feel embarrassed by your dog’s behaviour, worried about what could happen next or uncertain about which advice to follow.
You may even have started avoiding walks, visitors or places you once enjoyed.
Please know that asking for help does not mean you have failed your dog.
It means you care enough to understand what they are experiencing and want to find a safer, kinder way forward.
With the right understanding, guidance and support, things can improve.
My role is to help you understand your dog, feel more confident in the decisions you make and create meaningful change that works in real life.
A Behaviour Assessment gives us time to explore what is happening, understand your dog’s individual needs and create clear recommendations for moving forward.
After your assessment, you can choose individual follow-up sessions or continue with a structured programme for ongoing support and the best overall value.
You can book a free 15-minute discovery call to briefly explain what is happening and find out which service may be most suitable.
