Helping your dog learn to pause, wait and respond to guidance without relying on force or constant restraint.
Everyday Life Skills
This may include:
- Waiting at doors
- Moving away when asked
- Going to a mat
- Leaving or dropping items
- Travelling calmly
- Handling everyday distractions
- Building confidence in suitable new environments
Training That Works in Real Life
Training should not only work in your living room when everything is quiet.
We will develop your dog’s skills gradually and help them use those skills in the situations that matter to you.
This may involve training:

We will begin where your dog can learn successfully rather than expecting them to cope immediately in the most difficult situation.
How the Programme Works
Step 1 — Dog Training Assessment
We begin with an assessment to discuss:
- The difficulties you are experiencing
- Your dog’s current skills
- Their routines and lifestyle
- What training you have already tried
- The environments in which problems occur
- What you would like everyday life to look like
I will observe your dog where appropriate and identify a realistic starting point.
You will receive initial advice and recommendations, even if you choose not to continue with the full programme.
Step 2 — Your Personalised Training Plan
Your plan will be based on your goals, your dog’s learning needs and the time you realistically have available.
It may include:
- Foundation exercises
- Management changes
- Equipment guidance
- Short practice activities
- Clear progression steps
- Guidance for family members
- Ways to make training part of everyday routines
You will not receive a generic list of exercises that has no connection to your situation.
Step 3 — Four One-to-One Coaching Sessions
Across four private sessions, I will coach you through the training and help you understand how to guide your dog successfully.
We will review progress, practise practical skills and increase difficulty when your dog is ready.
Sessions may take place at home, on a walk or in another appropriate location.
Step 4 — Practice Between Appointments
You will receive manageable exercises to continue between sessions.
You will not be expected to spend hours training every day.
Short, consistent practice fitted into normal life is often more useful than occasional long sessions.
Step 5 — Review and Continue Progress
As your dog develops, we will review what is working and adapt the plan where necessary.
At the end of the programme, you will have clear guidance for continuing the training independently.
Additional one-to-one sessions can be booked if you would like further support or want to work towards new goals.

Dog Training Assessment — £125
A personalised assessment of your dog’s current skills, training needs and your individual goals.
You will receive practical initial recommendations and a clear way forward.
The assessment can be booked as a standalone service.
If you join the full programme within seven days, the £125 assessment fee will be deducted from the programme price.
One-to-One Dog Training Programme — £395
The programme includes:
- Your £125 Dog Training Assessment
- Four personalised coaching sessions
- Individual training plan
- Supporting Ravendale resources
- Between-session guidance
The assessment and four £75 sessions would cost £425 if purchased separately.
Programme saving: £30, plus the additional resources and ongoing support.
Individual Training Session — £75
Individual follow-up sessions are available after your assessment or programme.
They can be used for additional support, practising in another environment or beginning a new training goal.

It is about helping them understand what you are asking and making the right choices achievable and worthwhile.

You may worry that you are doing everything wrong or compare your dog with others who appear easier to train.
You will not be judged.
Dogs learn at different speeds, and owners have different routines, abilities and priorities.
My role is to make the process clearer, break training into manageable steps and help you recognise progress that may otherwise be easy to miss.

Do I Need to Complete the Assessment First?
Yes.
The Dog Training Assessment helps me understand your dog’s current skills and ensures that the coaching is appropriate for your goals.
It is included within the total programme price of £395.
Can I Book Only the Assessment?
Yes.
You can complete the assessment, receive your initial recommendations and decide afterwards whether you want further support.
There is no obligation to join the programme.
What If I Have Already Paid for the Assessment?
If you join the programme within seven days, your £125 assessment payment will be deducted from the £395 programme price.
The remaining balance would be £270.
Is This Programme Suitable for Puppies?
Yes, although puppies may also be better suited to a dedicated Puppy Support Programme depending on their age and your goals.
I can help you choose the most suitable option.
Is This Suitable for Adolescent Dogs?
Yes.
Adolescence can bring distraction, excitement and apparent changes in previously learned skills.
The programme can help rebuild focus, consistency and useful everyday habits.
Where an adolescent dog is showing significant fear, aggression or reactivity, a Behaviour Assessment may be more appropriate.
Can You Guarantee My Dog Will Have Perfect Recall?
No ethical trainer can guarantee a behaviour in every situation.
Recall is influenced by the environment, distractions, motivation, learning history and the amount of appropriate practice completed.
I can help you build a stronger and more reliable response while also teaching you how to manage situations safely.
Where Do Sessions Take Place?
Sessions may take place at your home, on local walking routes or in another suitable environment across Horsham and surrounding areas.
The location will be chosen according to the skill we are working on and what your dog can currently manage.
Can My Family Take Part?
Yes.
Where possible, it is helpful for the people who regularly care for the dog to understand the plan and use consistent guidance.
What If You Think My Dog Needs Behaviour Support?
I will explain my concerns and recommend the most appropriate starting point.
You will not be expected to continue with a training programme that does not properly address your dog’s needs.
